A variety of monthly passes are available to meet almost every transit need. Passes are good for unlimited rides, seven days a week during the month for which they are issued. Passes are valid for any route which has the same ride value or less as shown on the pass. The ride value of any pass may be applied to any route with a higher ride value by paying the difference in cash. Passes are not good on Bay to Breakers and Monster Park. Choose from these convenient pass plans.

Passes may be purchased from vendors throughout SamTrans' service area. Should you be unable to get to one of these locations, call our Customer Service Center for a mail order envelope.

   Senior/Disabled/Medicare cardholder Pass $22/Month

For use by senior, disabled and Medicare cardholder patrons on any Local or Express route at any time. Bus operator may ask for proof of age, disability or to see Medicare card.

   Youth Pass $29/Month

For use by youth patrons on any Local or Express route at any time. Bus operator may ask for proof of age.

   $1.50 Ride-value Pass $48/Month

Primarily for use by adult patrons on any Local route at any time and on Routes CX, KX, REX, 391, 292 and 397 within San Mateo County and to Palo Alto.

   SF Local: $1.50 in/$3.00 out Ride-value Pass $72/Month

For use by adult patrons on any Local route and on Routes 391, 292 and 397 when traveling out of San Francisco.

   Express: $4.00 Ride-value Pass $128/Month

For use by adult patrons on any SamTrans route.

   Prorated Monthly Passes

Monthly passes can be obtained on a prorated basis for partial month use only through SamTrans headquarters or by mail. Prices are discounted 25% between the 8th and 14th of the month and 50% between the 15th and 21st of the month. Passes sold between the 1st and 7th are not subject to prorated discounts.

SamTrans offers a joint pass with both BART and Muni. The Muni sticker may be purchased at most San Francisco and Daly City pass vendors.

   BART Plus Ticket (There is no grace period when boarding SamTrans buses.)
